TFT
Display (Thin Film Transistor)
TFT stands for 'Thin Film Transistor',
a flat-panel liquid crystal display variant which uses active
matrix technology.
One to four transistors are located next to each pixel which
allows the pixel to be turned on and off at an increased
rate.
TFT has a faster response time than passive-matrix
technology and produces improved image quality and higher
contrast than is possible with STN displays.
The downside is to TFT is increased power
consumption and higher manufacturing costs compared to technology
such as STN.
