The EGSM operating frequency extends 10 MHz lower on the
900 band. If the operator has access to this bandwidth,
it can expand the network capacity. The mobile phone must
also support the lower bandwidth to make use of the expansion.

and usage. Talk-times is increased by up to 30% if Half
Rate is active, and reduced by 5% if Enhanced Full Rate
