Polyphonic Ringtones

Polyphonic ringtones were the next logical step in the evolution of mobile phone audio technology. If you like mobile phones that play pop hits with more than just a passing resemblance to the track then wait until you hear these. Old style models of mobile phone that play only monophonic sounds are gradually being rendered obsolete over time by the new breed of mobile phone that is able able to play polyphonic tones. Polytones can sound like they are played back in stereo and are utilize multiple different notes playing simultaneously. In the short time since the technology has become readily available we have gone from 4 voice polyphonic ringtones to phones capable of supporting up to 64 voices, although there is limited 64 voice content available at this time.

All of this results in the creation of a much fuller, richer and more musical sound. Newer mobile phone handsets will come equipped with higher quality speakers to accommodate this evolution in mobile phone sound quality.

All of the tones we list provide you with a high quality preview shown alongside the track so that you can preview any of the new range that we have to offer. Please note that previews are as played on Nokia mobile phones and may vary per make and model. We hope this will help you take some of the guesswork out of purchasing and enable you to make a more informed decision on what sounds right for you. To listen to any of these previews just head to the polytone section listed on the left menu.
